What your camera needs

Rekami for Windows plays compatible RTSP streams and discovers compatible ONVIF devices on your local network. A camera working in its manufacturer’s app does not by itself confirm RTSP or ONVIF support. Check the documentation for your exact model and firmware, and enable these services if needed.

Discovery and playback are separate: finding a device does not confirm that its credentials, stream path or codec will work. Test the stream in Rekami before saving the camera.

Windows and Android

The Windows workflow includes discovery, a saved camera list, multi-camera viewing, snapshots and local recording. Microsoft Store lists the current system requirements, availability and one-time price for your region.

An Android app is also available. Check its Store listing for current requirements and capabilities; do not assume all Windows features are available on Android. Advanced ONVIF and PTZ support varies by platform and camera model.

Local network and privacy

Your PC must be able to reach the camera over the LAN. Guest networks or network isolation can prevent access. Local viewing does not require a Rekami cloud account, and camera streams are not relayed through a Rekami cloud. Recordings and snapshots stay on your device. Internet is needed for Store downloads and updates.

What is not guaranteed

This page is not a list of certified camera models or a codec support matrix. Compatibility depends on the model, firmware, codec, credentials and network configuration. Use the exact model’s documentation and a successful stream test rather than a brand name as evidence.

A full NVR is a better fit for continuous retention, motion rules, automatic alerts, multiple users or large installations.

Follow the Windows setup guide or troubleshoot RTSP.
